Unfortunately, Larwence Sanders passed away in 1998, but a writer named Vincent Lardo has taken over (ie: he took over the McNally Series in '99) and fortunately he has kept Archie alive. I've also read some of his "Sins" series which features a retired chief of detectives, Edward X. Delaney, who still likes to solve crimes in New York. Those are really good, too!
