Finders Keepers: Jessie Roland always knew that her feelings for her parents--dislike and disgust for her mother, less than love for her father--were anything but what a child should feel, especially for the parents that had given her a privileged childhood filled with private schooling, lavish vacations, and any gift that her heart desired. But try as she might, something always kept her from truly loving the Rolands. Strange dreams of a yellow dog and a stroller hinted at the truth, but Jessie couldn't recall the fateful day when Thea and Barnes Roland had stolen her from her stroller, leaving her pet retriever Jelly to chase after their car for miles, only to return to Jessie's stunned parents without the golden-haired little girl. Now a woman, and armed with a sizeable trust fund, Jessie moves far away from her parents to start a new life in Washington, D.C., where a new job, new apartment, and a new man awaits her. Tanner Kingsley is handsome, charming, and hiding something. Jessie's involvement with him will lead to happiness, heartache, and the full realization of her hidden past--a past she must come to terms with before she can find true peace.

My Thoughts: Amazing story. Knowing that such things happen to children made it even more poignant. I shed some tears on this one.

Guest List: When their parents die suddenly under mysterious circumstances, five-year-old Abby Evans and her six-year-old sister, Mallory, are adopted by their dad's friend Donovan Mitchell and his new wife. Troubled Mallory is sent off to an institution and banished from the now-prosperous Mitchell family for more than a decade. Still missing her sister, Abby suffers yet another loss when her boyfriend, Connor, dies suddenly. The sisters are finally reunited in their early 20s, and Abby's life seems complete once again, with a wonderful new man, an opulent house and an instantly successful writing career. Trouble soon arises, however, when Mallory becomes convinced that their parents, along with Connor and several others, were actually murderedAand that Donovan Mitchell is the culprit. Abby bases her newest novel on that idea, and the two young women hunt for the clues they hope will roound out the story and clarify their complex past. The evidence is inconclusive until Abby and Mallory throw a lavish book-completion party, at which a violent encounter leads to the truth.

My Thoughts: This was a good story! I borrowed the book from a friend last year so I don't have the summary, but check out the above link. It's the story of two estranged sisters, their father and the person who is trying to destroy them. Quite interesting.

Listen to Your Heart: Josie and Kitty Dupre are orphaned twin sisters trying to keep their late parents' catering company afloat. On the eve of he hectic spring catering season, Josie's life is turned upside down by the arrival of Paul Brouillette and his rambunctious boxer, Zip, who takes one look at Josie's now-white Maltese and instantly bonds with the tiny dog. Despite all efforts to keep them apart, the two dogs are inseparable, which causes problems—romantic and otherwise—for their owners.Suddenly Josie feels the strong sense of her mother's presence. Is that her favorite perfume he smells in an empty room? She hears music that isn't playing on the radio. Could it be, Josie wonders, that her Mother understands...and might be trying to send her a message?

My Thoughts: This was a GREAT story! I LOVED how she incorporated the dogs in there as if they were people with a relationship. It was too cute. A romantic read.
