Subject:GUAVAWEEN REVIEW
Source: Brigid
Thanks: Brigid
My friend was one of the lucky fans who attended Nick's first concert last night at Guavaween. Here's the scoop:
  • He came on stage and he was like, "You might remember me from a lil group called the Backstreet Boys.
  • He opened with Blow your Mind.
  • He was in handcuffs and an orange "prison" jumpsuit.
  • He ripped off the handcuffs, tore the jumpsuit off to reveal a black mesh tank top, black cargo pants, lotsa bracelets and a long silver cross.
  • He's talking and stuff and he's saying how hot it was. Poured water all over his face while licking it.
  • He said, "I can say shit now if I want."
  • Then he sang My Confession, Do I Have to Cry For You, Help Me, Who Needs the World.
  • They played his booty call and he laughed. He was lovin' that.
  • Then he played guitar for I Just Wanna Take You Home.
  • The crowd was going wild and the guys were rockin' out.
  • He looked and sounded amazing!
Photos to follow tonight or tomorrow. Thanks Brigid!

Subject: NICK CARTER REVEALS HIS ROCKER SIDE
    Source: los40.com
    Thanks: Ally
The Backstreet Boy with a 'good boy' face, Nick Carter, is underneath a wolrf with a lamb's cover (spanish saying so I don't know if this exists in english but you get the meaning). His years along with his friends didnt allow him to see the future with clarity. Although his stay in the group - that inspite of all the rumours is still together - has made him a big star in the showbusiness, the singer has never felt as good and at ease as he feels with his debut as a solo artists: Now or never. The album, that will go on sale on the 28th of October (29th in the USA) has a bit of everything but if there is something that dominates the whole is, without a doubt, rock and roll that is fed from sounds coming from artists such as Bryan Adams, Bon Jovi, Kiss or Poison, among others. The first edition of the CD, which will be limited, includes a DVD full of extra material. Nick Carter, the first BSB to go solo, is walking strong (which, in spanish means he's making an impact) for sure. The blue eyed blonde - who make adolescents and not so young women crazy - shows us a new part of him in his solo debut, and shows that he does very weel in this new ground he's walking on: rock and roll.
Spanish Now or Never track listing:
    1- Help me
    2- My confession
    3- I stand for you
4- Do I have to cry for you
    5- Girls in the U.S.A.
    6- I got you
    7- Is it saturday yet?
    8- Blow your mind
    9- Miss America
10- I just wanna take you home
11- Heart without a home (I'll be yours)
    12- Who needs the world
    13- Scandalicious (Bonus track)

    Source: miami.com
    Thanks: Ally
There was plenty of fun made of hapless Anglos who didn't speak Spanish and the way North America looks down on South America. Argentine TV personality Mario Pergolini and Mexican actor Diego Luna, the co-hosts, started with a skit in which they confronted INS ''agents'' who chased them into the theater, where they asked a confounded Nick Carter, of the Backstreet Boys: ``Hey man, where's Britney Spears?'' Backstage, Carter -- speaking through an interpreter -- promised to do better. ''I'm going to start studying Spanish,'' he said. ``Next time I come here, I don't want to miss anything.'' The MTV Video Music Awards Latin America will be rebroadcast at 8 p.m. Nov. 1 on MTV.

If anything will drive a nail into the Backstreet Boys' coffin, it's this surprisingly impressive solo album from Nick Carter. The first of the Fab Five to break out on his own, Carter reveals a rocker's heart that's lurked under his high-gloss pop exterior. While he rasps and struts through his 12-song debut, we're not talking headbanging mayhem here. Carter excels in the brand of guitar rock that put Bon Jovi and Bryan Adams on the map. The elder Carter conjures the militaristic flamboyance of Queen on "Girls In The USA," or the teasing coyness of "Raspberry Beret"-era Prince on "My Confession." The anthemic "Is It Saturday Yet" is another highlight. Despite a seven-year tenure singing other people's songs as a member of America's favorite boy band, Carter proves himself an able tunesmith, penning five of the tracks on the disc, and plays some fine guitar. -- Jaan Uhelszki

Subject: NICK SAYS WHATEVER TO BRITNEY RUMORS
    Source: katrillion
    Thanks: Debi
(Katrillion) "I would like to get this cleared up," a reader wrote to Katrillion on Tuesday (Oct. 22). "Is it true that Britney Spears and Nick Carter are a couple because I am confused and I need some proof of it." Fortunately for the reader, Nick, who is currently promoting his new album "Now Or Never," in stores Oct. 29, was being interviewed just as the e-mail came in! Well, dear reader, when this babelicious Backstreet Boy was asked to address the Britney rumor, he was more than happy to dispel the myth. "Whatever," Nick told Katrillion. "It's not true right now. She's an attractive girl. The press is gonna spark something if they're not careful. I don't know her." Nick is responding to the US Weekly report that he and Britney were spotted leaving a London hotel recently. The magazine reported that the pair went to great pains not to be photographed together.

    Thanks: Alicia
Wondering what Nick is really like? He is polite, accessible and all-around awesome. Like every other girl, Britney would definitely be lucky to have him for a boyfriend.vNick Carter will release his Jive Records solo debut album, Now Or Never, next Tuesday (October 29). Stepping out from the shadow of a pop music phenomenon like the Backstreet Boys has proven to be both difficult and rewarding at the same time, according to the singer. Carter told us on Tuesday (October 22) that despite the challenge of going it alone, he's ready for his moment in the spotlight: "I guess there's a lot of responsibility, but at the same time, you know, I've been with the Boys for 10 years and I'm excited to do this, you know? I'm proud of the album. I'm happy with the way everything's going. I'm at a great place in my head--where I'm at spiritually and mentally--so I'm, like, full speed ahead." The tracklisting for Now Or Never includes the first single, "Help Me," as well as "My Confession," "I Stand For You," "Do I Have To Cry For You," "Girls In The USA," "I Got You," "Is It Saturday Yet?", "Blow Your Mind," "Miss America," "I Just Wanna Take You Home," "Heart Without A Home (I'll Be Yours)," and "Who Needs The World." A limited-edition version of Now Or Never with a bonus DVD containing behind-the-scenes interview footage will also be available (while supplies last) starting on October 29. Carter will autograph copies of his new album at the Virgin Megastore in New York's Times Square on October 29 at 5:30 p.m. ET, and at Sam Goody Central in Bloomington, Minnesota's Mall Of America on October 31 at 6:30 p.m. CT.

Subject:NICK CARTER AND P.DIDDY AMONG THOSE ON THORNBERRYS SOUNDTRACK
    Source:mtv.com
    Thanks: Angela
Hide the Courvoisier - P. Diddy's latest tune is for kids. The bad boy for life has collaborated with Brandy and Bow Wow on a song for the soundtrack to the upcoming animated movie "The Wild Thornberrys." "Dance With Us" will be one of two singles off the soundtrack, due November 26, according to a Jive Records spokesperson. The other single is Paul Simon's "Father and Daughter" about a father's wishes for his daughter. The sentimental number is Simon's first soundtrack contribution in 15 years. Other songs on the soundtrack include a remix of Peter Gabriel's classic "Shaking the Tree" with Shaggy, Angélique Kidjo's duet with Dave Matthews on "Iwoya," and a new tune from the Baha Men. Nick Carter contributed "End of Forever," the B-side to the international version of his new single, "Help Me."
"The Wild Thornberrys," based on the popular Nickelodeon series of the same name, hits theaters December 20. In the movie, main character Eliza gives up her ability to speak with animals to save her sister's life. - Corey Moss

    Thanks: Deb
Backstreet Boy Nick Carter guest stars as Jay Black, the lead singer of the '60s pop group Jay and the Americans. He performs their 1964 hit “Come a Little Bit Closer” at a Bandstand rehearsal, where he and Meg (Brittany Snow) hit it off. They plan a party for that night, but where? The Pryor house is a possibility, since Jack and Helen (Tom Verica and Gail O'Grady) are in New York for a reunion of Jack's World War II unit. They'd never allow it and JJ (Will Estes) knows it, but he's distracted by his breakup with Beth (Rachel Boston). Meanwhile, Patty (Sarah Ramos) wants to impress her spelling-bee foe Kevin (Cameron Bowen). So why not invite him to party with Jay Black?

Perhaps the first thing you notice about this album is that it's not a pop record. In fact, you could call it a rock record and you'd be pretty much on the mark. Sure, dancehall reggae artist Mr. Vegas pops up on one track ('Girls In The USA'), but the rest of the cuts on 'Now Or Never' - Nick Carter's eagerly awaited solo debut - trade in the glossy harmonies and grandiose production of the Backstreet Boys for a more rock-oriented, singer/songwriter feel. Blending his childhood soundtrack of Tom Petty, Fleetwood Mac and Bruce Springsteen with the spirit of late 80's rawk - in the guise of Bon Jovi, say, or Bryan Adams - Nick has carved out his own infectious style. Includes the single 'Help Me'.

    Subject:NICK POSTPONES APPEARANCES
    Source:aaroncarter.com
    Thanks: Susie & Stephanie
Some of you may have heard that Nick has postponed and/or canceled his appearances this week. His father has taken ill. Here is an official comment from Aaron's official site:
"I just received a phone call from Nick Carter himself about the condition of his dad, Bob. Apparently I was given some misleading information about his current state, but the fact is Bob is ill right now. While the doctors are looking for the cause to his illness, Nick has come home to take care of his father and be with the family. Bob is in good spirits right now, and Nick is doing everything he can to help his dad get back on the road to recovery as soon as possible. Please join me in including the Carters in your prayers so that everything can turn out for the best."
Later on Nick called in to Q100:
His dad is sick and he is at home taking care of him. Colon problems, don't really know what it is all about exactly. He was In the hospital for 2 days. His dad is stubborn so he is making sure that he takes care of himself. He is gonna make sure his pops is straight before he reschedules. He just talked to the fellas recently -- gonna start recording maybe middle of the year next year? I think that is what he said. He feels no competition with Justin--He hopes Justin is very successful. Nick is in a good place in his life and in his head and he doesn't want to diss anyone. Justin and He had a talk at the Latin Grammys (i assume) They have mad respect for each other. He has no girlfriend, no time for one, and it is hard to figure out who he can trust. Not dating Britney. Only met her twice in his life.
Nick's appearance on Regis & Kelly was still confirmed as of today's show so who knows.

Subject: NICK TAKES OFF IN JAPAN
    Source:mtvasia.com
    Thanks: Jennifer
To promote his forthcoming solo debut album "Now Or Never," Nick Carter of the Backstreet Boys fame went on a promotional jaunt to Japan last week to much success! Kicking off the trip on October 6 with an intensive day of interviews with television, radio and print media from Japan, Korea, Taiwan, Hong Kong and Singapore, Nick spoke in-depth about his new solo album in good spirits. But actions speak louder than words. To showcase his solo abilities, Nick performed two songs -- "Help Me" and "My Confession" -- from "Now Or Never" the next day on the roof of Aqua City, much to the delight of dazzled Japanese fans and Asian media alike! As a totally exclusive trip, a Japan Airlines 767 was also chartered for "Nick Airways" where Nick took on the captain role, addressing the 150 fans and 50 media on board via the plane's PA. Five lucky fans were invited for a brief meet 'n' greet session with Nick but that's not all! To reach as many of his fans as possible, Nick also made a tour around the plane, receiving gifts, hugs and kisses from his frenized fans! With a well-planned promotional trip, the "Nick Carter fever" has indeed gone to an all-time high with all major media in Japan reporting about the trip. Not only did Nick's debut single "Help Me" charted at No. 1 on Japan's Oricon International Singles chart, pre-order sales also paved the way for a major album release in Japan on October 23. Fans not residing in Japan will have to wait a little longer though as "Now Or Never" is only scheduled to be released on October 28. - LM

  • Nick had to draw a picture. He had to draw Anastacia (the VJ) and he said that he was going to make a caricature and in the end it looked so horrible.
  • Nick talked about what it feels like being solo. He said that he has more right to a say in a matter and that he can chose what to do and what not. He also said that it is different doing an interview, because he cannot lean back and has to do it all alone.
  • He talked about "Help Me." Said he needs no help, but that he is talking about this feeling you have when you do not some help.
  • Patrice asked when he will be back in Germany and Nick said that he is talking to the management about a tour in January and Patrice asked "You mean BSB or Nick Carter?" and Nick looked kinda sad and said: "Nah me".
  • Then he said that he acted for American Dream and that it was fun, because he had acted when he was younger and so it reminded him of that.
  • Last question was "So what are your plans?" and nick was like: "Well we are releasing NOW OR NEVER"- then he made a pause and said "NOW OR NEVER- sorry" and i was wondering why he corrected his sentence when he said just the same this so funny... "Now or never"- "Now or Never, sorry."
  • He said that it is not over with BSB.
  • They asked him to request a video and he wanted Papa Roach.
  • He looked tired and well ... I think sad. He didn't smile much.
  • He signed this caricature and about christmas time you can win it on MTV.

Subject: HIGHLIGHTS OF THE GERMAN FAN CONFERENCE
    Source: Fan Conference
    Thanks: Me
  • When asked about all the fans in Rio, he said he is an attention freak.
  • When the fans were giving him presents, said he LOVES presents. He sounded like a little kid.
  • A fan gave him some ring. He said he felt cool and put it on his finger.
  • A fan asked about his tattoos and he showed his big arm tattoo. He said that he's thinking of getting the other arm done. NO NO NO! He also said he's addicted and way past the point of no return. Lord help him.
  • Someone asked why he broke up with Mandy. He said, "Mandy is Mandy." He said that he can't be with someone who's always down cause they'll drag him down with them.
  • Someone asked if he visited Ground Zero. He said that he went with Howie, but he had to leave cause it was too much for him. Awww...
  • Someone gave him a stocking cap. He put it on and sang a bit of a Craig David song. He said, "I'm Craig David. I just don't have my tan anymore."
  • He did an accoustic version of Help Me with his guitarist Daniel. He said they had never done it before so it was going to be raw, but it was awesome!
  • Right before he sang, he was wearing the stocking cap again and Daniel started playing the chords of Enrique's Hero and Nick sang a few notes, imitating Enrique's voice. Hysterical!
  • He posed for tons of pics, striking all these poses. It was too cute!

The video is a bit over 33 minutes long and 78 MBs which is why I can't upload it to the Yahoo Group. But you can download it on Aimster, if you have it. Do a search for Nick Carter and you will find it under German Fan Conference. It's a big file, but worth it! Just a note, for those of you on dial-up, it took me 6 hours to download this video and I have a 56.6k modem. Good luck! I'm getting a cable modem this week! :)
