Prologue

Booneville, Kentucky - 1978

The young girl sprinted through the forest as fast as her little legs could carry her. She knew that he was getting closer. She could hear his labored breathing, the loud crunch of leaves underneath his pounding feet. Suddenly there was a deafening silence. She stopped running and dared turn around. He was no where to be seen. Breathing hard, she sat down on a log, brushing her hair out of her face and trying to stop herself from shaking.

Crunch...

What was that? She shot off the log and spun around. She couldn't see anyone. She took a few steps forward and then she saw him. He loomed out of the shadows like the devil rising up from hell. Advancing towards her, he hissed, "You little bitch! You're not going to get away from me this time!"

She shrieked in terror and started backing away from him, forgetting about the log that was behind her. BAF! Down she went, her legs twisting unnaturally behind her.

His evil laugh reverberated through the forest. "I got you now!" He threw himself on top of her, tearing at her dress and underpants. He ripped off her panties and tore into her.

She screamed and reached into her pocket. Struggling, she screamed, "DADDY STOP!" and he saw the knife plunge towards him at the same time as a gunshot shattered the still morning air.
