93.3 FLZ - Charity Interview

Jeff Thomas: The technical difficulties were necessary that we had earlier simply because they had to add more security to make sure that the location remained undisclosed so of course now we can reveal it to you. MJ, of the MJ and BJ morning show is live with Backstreet Boy Nick Carter....

MJ: Yes I am. Thank you Jeff Thomas. MJ from the MJ and BJ morning show live in Brandon. Now I'm here with Nick Carter from the BSB. We're about to make this amazing check presentation to St. Joseph's Hospital Foundation and I'm not supposed to technically disclose where we are right now....should we tell them Nick?

Jeff Thomas: I have a drum roll.

Nick: Are you sure you want to tell them?

MJ: Ah Man, what do you think?

Nick: I don't know, I'm kind a contemplating right now.

MJ: Oh man....there's a lot of cars around us...a lot of FORD cars around us.

Nick: Oh no

MJ: Did I just give it away? Brandon and FORD. Brandon FORD? (laughs)

Nick: That's it. (laughs) So come on down, no I'm just playing.

MJ: Yeah, we're here at Brandon Ford, right now, with Nick Carter of the BSB and we're about to make this amazing presentation to St. Joseph's Hospital Foundation. Could you believe the amount of money raised?

Nick: I can't believe it. I'm- I'm still shocked.

MJ: How about the items? Now the most amazing thing is is that the backstage passes to your concert last night at Tropicana Field went for $12,500.

Nick: That was amazing..I mean I....it's just that I think it's just that they realized it was a good thing and it was for charity, especially for something for Tampa. You know? I'm willing to do anything for Tampa and I think all the other people in Tampa are willing to do anything they can to help people.

MJ: So the backstage passes went for $12,500. You had a personal Blues jersey. That went for $851.

Nick: (gasps) Oh my God! (laughs)

MJ: Tell me, tell me, tell me about the pillowcases. Now where--now did you actually sleep on these pillowcases?

Nick: I think- weren't they 93.3 pillowcases? 93.3 pillowcases? Yeah, I didn't sleep, I didn't actually sleep on them. I don't know what they said to- to sell them or what happened but nah...

MJ: You signed them so now your fans can sleep on the pillowcases.

Nick: Yup

MJ: There you go. We also gave away some boxer shorts, uh with the auction. We also had a bunch of autographed cds which went for amazing prices. Total....$13,703.62. Nick Carter from the BSB. Let's make the presentation right now to the folks from St. Joseph's Hospital.

Nick: Let's do it

MJ: Now let's go. This is pretty easy. Michael...Michael's with us. Michael is the administrator of St. Joseph's, uh, Hospital Foundation which includes Tampa Children's Hospital at St. Joe's.

Michael: Yup, hi, this is unbelivable. Ah, it's gonna really make a big difference both to the woman's hospital and the children's hospital and do great things. We're gonna put all the children's hospital fund in childlife for entertainment of the kids which, that's the BSB, that's what Nick does. So, his money will go to entertainment.

MJ: Nick, why don't you pick up this giant check for $13,703 and give it to the fine folks at St. Joe's. Here we go. Look at this. (laughs) Try and lift it up, try and lift up the check, look at that. $13,703.62 all from the 93.3 FLZ Backstreet Boys Auction. Thanks everybody! Oh my God, the people are starting to pour in here to Brandon FORD, where, uh, (laughs), we gotta go! Where, uh, Nick Carter is here with me MJ from the MJ and BJ morning show and the entire crew. Thanks a lot. That'll do it from us, uh, for us. LIVE from Brandon FORD, it's MJ along with Nick Carter from the BSB LIVE on 93.3 FLZ. Jeff Thomas..
