Bliss Magazine

1. Is the feud between BSB and N Sync over now?

Nick: There's never really been a feud. The media likes to think there's a rivalry, but I've got a lot of respect for N Sync, they work real hard and deserve all their success.

2. What do you and the boys think of O Town?

Nick: They're a great group. People love them. I'm proud that a lot of young male vocal groups are following in the footsteps of BSB. It's an amazing life being in a band, so I know how they feel, seeing their first video on MTV, or hearing themselves on the radio. 3. Now that Britney's single, would you make a move on her?

Nick: Ha Ha! Britney is very beautiful. I'd be crazy to answer "No", wouldn't I?

4. Own up, have you ever snogged a groupie?

Nick: Whoah! I guess I've snogged girls who know who I am and are into the group, but I'm not interested in girls who only want to be with me because of who I am.

5. Who's the sexiest woman in the world and why?

Nick: There's so many.... Jennifer Love Hewitt, she's gorgeous. JLo is pretty fine. Carmen Electra.... she's hot. Shall I stop there?!"

6. Have you ever been dumped by a girl?

Nick: Yes. It's not a cool thing to happen to you, or to do to someone, but it happens. If you can stay friends afterwards, that's cool. You have to pick yourself up and move on, it's the only way to get through it.

7. What's your honest opinion of your brother's music?

Nick: I'm real proud of him. He's very young, and the music he makes reflects that. His fans are a similar age to him, and they love his music - it's great pop music. That's what counts.

8. Does your mum like yours or Aaron's music best?

Nick: Ha Ha, are you trying to get me and Aaron to start wrestling each other....?! I think that would depend on which one of us asked her.... And, knowing Mom, she would still probably say, "I like them both the same, dear."

9. Is there any sibling rivalry between you and Aaron?

Nick: Of course! We're brothers. We fight over everything and anything. If I say 'Yes' he says 'No'. It's only to wind each other up though, cause we love each other really."

10. Kevin once said that you have a nasty temper and you have hit him before. Is this true?

Nick: Ha, Ha, Ha! I can't believe he said that! It was very early on in the group and we were in London on a promotional trip. We'd just got off the plane and everyone's bags had arrived except mine, so I was pretty annoyed. Then Kev started to sing "Nick ain't got no pants, Nick ain't got no pants", louder and louder. I flipped. I tried to football tackle him, but it was nothing serious!

11. When was the last time you cried?

Nick: It was just a few weeks back, I was watching TV in my hotel room, and I started crying over some stupid film. The film wasn't really that sad, but I was missing home at the time, and I think it got to me.

12. As the eldest of five siblings how do you think your brothers and sisters would describe you?

Nick: As the coolest brother in the world.... actually they'd call me by my nickname 'sleepy'. I can be very lazy you see.

13. Does you releasing a solo single mean BSB are over?

Nick: No way. We're still a group, but we all do our own thing. Brian's been making movies and Howie's been taking time out to promote his charity, the Dorough Lupus Foundation, which he set up after his sister dies from lupus in 1998. I wanted to make an album that was more like the music I listen too....a bit more rocky.

14. Which do you prefer, singing with a band or as a solo artist?

Nick: It's so different. I really missed the guys when I was making the album. I'm so used to turning to one of them to laugh when something funny happens, or to ask for their opinion on a take. Singing on my own is hard work, but I love the spontaneity of it. When you're in a group you have to decide how the songs are going to sound before you get in the studio, as it would take too long to finish anything otherwise. On your own, you can change things round at the last minute if it feels right.

15. What's your least favourite country that you've been too?

Nick: I can't answer that! Everywhere I've been to the fans have made us feel so welcome, which helps me as I get homesick, real bad.

16. What's your biggest regret?

Nick: When I'm old I don't want to regret a thing. That's why I made this album. Its' something I felt I wanted to achieve. Sometimes when I see a great football player I regret not trying harder at gym class so that I could be that good, but you can't do everything I guess.

17. Aside from your own, whose career would you most like to have and why?

Nick: Oooooh that's a good one. It has to be Elvis. He's the King, man! I know it all ended too soon for the man, but he made people go crazy when they saw him. He was pure rock 'n roll.

18. Who's the most successful with girls, you or Aaron?

Nick: I don't want to brag - I'm a gentleman. But I think I do ok!

19. What's your idea of absolute bliss?

Nick: Being with my true friends and family, relaxing and laughing so hard you're crying!

Thanks for being up for a giggle Nick. You're definitely going to be a success with bliss girls!

Thanks to Fiona.
